I've got a question about hooking up a xxodd minipc media center to a tv. I've done it succesfully in the past, but now with a different tv it won't work.

The pc has dvi and s-video outs. When it worked with the old tv I hooked it up svideo to svideo on the tv.. I switched av to s-video on the tv and the screeen switched from b/w to colour and everything was right with the world..

Now I have a tv without s-video on it, so I bought a s-video to scart cable, but I can't get it in colour.. My tv of course has an input switch button, but that only switches between the two scart inputs. I've tried all sorts of settings on the pc, but it won't change from b&w.. My tv is out of options, I don't think the problem is a output setting on the pc, so can anyone help me..
Do I get a dvi to scart / dvi to vga + vga to scart set.. Or won't that work either.. Does anyone know what I should do.?

Any help is greatly appreciated..!
cheers,
Mental

Sometimes the saturation level is set at default to 0 for the video card and needs to be elevated to achieve a color out to the TV.

buy a newer video card for it. doesn't have to be fancy, but it helps to have something with ports that support the ports on your television. It makes things a lot easier (and cheaper sometimes) than buying conversion cords/boxes.

thanks for the replies guys, but I don't think either will work. I looked up the settings on saturation and everything was normal, like it always was and also works in color on my pc monitor (although I checked this via dvi and not the s-video I use with the tv).

And a graphics card isn't really an option.. this is a media center pc specifically designed for living room tv use.. Thats why it has tv outs and its the size of a external hard drive - I don't think I will find anything I can put in it, since its all onboard graphics and I don't think there even is a agp or any kind of videocard slot and definetly not room in the back or any side for the cable to connect..

I have ordered a new cable for it on ebay.. S-video and composit audio to scart with an in/out switch.. I'm hoping this does the trick, but if anyone knows of a sure way I can make this work please reply..
