This is my tribute to Chuck Schuldiner: The Father of Death Metal ( R.I.P.) and his band Death. If your a fan leave a comment. I personally am pissed that Spiritual Healing is out of print and i must now buy it on import. Chuck is currently my favorite artist and i wish he were with us today. :( what do the rest of you have to say?

Chuck is God.

His instrumentals are among the best for their genre. He shredded like nuts live, and hit every note. Amazing to say the least.

Death is one of my favorite band's of all time as well. If I had to choose which band I thought was most "Perfect" I would choose Death.

That band was just pure fucking metal.

Human is my favorite album, but Crystal Mountain is my favorite song.
It was also the first song I learned all the way through on guitar.

Yep, Chuck was the man. R.I.P.

He's the Dimebag Darrel of death metal.

He's Died of a brain tumor at 34. And that's the thing that slays me most about it. I've never heard anything about him being a big drug user or anything. As far as I can tell he never did anything at all. Yet he died of a god damn brain tumor. That's a bunch of horse shit.

Fuck you.

But, honestly, it seems like every week theres a thread on Death. I love metal, especially more extreme metal, therefore I absolutely love Death. But, come on, we know that Chuck was an awesome musician, who really started Death Metal, and then started progressive death metal.

"Sacred Serenity" is a really fun song to play on guitar too.
The only thing I didn't like about Chuck, was that on the recordings from the album after scream bloody core and on, he had real deep gutteral vocals, but live, he just sounded like he did on scream bloody gore. It doesn't bother me that much, because scream bloody gore is my favorite death album, but it would seem more appropriate to just do those vocals on those later albums, or just do the vocals on the album when playing live.

Death is the band you measure almost all other death metal bands against. Schuldiner was a friendly, open and optimistic person as well. There is no goddamn justice in this universe

As I said in the other Death thread, they're one of the most criminally underrated bands of all time. Completely solid discography, not a bad album at all. Chuck was truly one of the greatest of all time.
