View Full Version : I like how SG is now. This is why.

Back in early 2005, when I started viewing &T Community Forums, SG was spectacular. There was a vast amount of original threads, that contained much knowledge, to which the user base, along with me, applied to our life's. These threads helped to advance our collective knowledges, and with this we created more threads, etc. etc. Long story short, 2005-pre-Scrilla was quite amazing. And now I feel we are back to square one (with exceptions of today).

I enjoy where we are &T. I feel that we have steadily increased our thread quality, and post quality. People are becoming more genuine with their posts, and we are FINALLY separating us from HB and /b/ (yes we were there at a point).

Keep it this way guys. Let's not point fingers on whose to blame on this newfound amazingness (Meta's iron fist). It is all of us. Whether you post or lurk, you help. Thanks everyone, and keep on keeping on.

I think the quality of &T has been on the decline in recent years.

I think people register here, and then immediately begin trying to be one of the kool internet dudez

That SG is a barren wasteland? About midway between when reg was opened last and the time it was closed. By that time Meta had worked his magic and ended up pissing the good posters off and then they left. SG was then abandoned and people slowly started to leave. Then the blackout came, and it's never been the same way since.

I miss the days when SG dominated the Hot Topics, and I couldn't go 3 hours without having 8 new 'hot' threads to post in.

You know what happened to totse? vB happened.

It was SOOO much better when we didn't have 'New Arrival' and 'Acolyte' underneath the junior posters.

It was SOOOO much better when Spurious was allowed to be random.

The reason you thought they were origional threads is because you were'nt here before viewing them, DUH.

Spurious used to be the only forum that showed up in the hot topics box. Therefore all the newbs just used to click on different SG threads all day, probably not even noticing that there were other forums. Personally I don't give too much of a shit about how active SG is: I mean, I love you guys and all, but I don't really come here for this forum. It's a bit.....content-free, generally speaking, regardless of the level of activity. The op saying that SG used to enrich all ours lives or whatever is just laughable in my opinion.

The place may have had more users before, but 85% of them were complete clowns who dropped useless shit-drop after shit-drop, oblivious to the senselessness of it. Quantity is not quality, and even though there may be less users here, you may get better content. Metaphysicist has removed more than his fair share of 12-yr old kidiots from Totse, and that is hardly a bad thing, IMO.

I remember a time when people made threads that made people like me question my entire existence, Posters that with a single utterance could bring my reality crashing down around me. They gave me questions that I could not ask and answers I could not see. Those people, those Gods among men, where have they gone?

It didn't matter because things were still talked about. There are sundry members that are still as stupid as a bag of hammers and it will never change.

When I see the same topic on the first page of SG even though no one has posted anything new there is a problem.
