Of course it's still great.

Don't be a dumbass like h0ppin and try to beat an addiction by creating another one, though. Alcohol addiction is serious shit and even worse than opiate and benzo addiction.

Alcohol is great, it's one drug that I hate to do without. I could, but I choose not to, it helps with my anxiety and insomnia more than anything else, including weed. It's not my drug of choice or anything but it's just the drug that helps me out the most.

I would agree that alcoholism is much more damaging than heroin addiction, but because heroin is illegal where alcohol is not, heroin addiction is more dangerous because you have to deal with drug dealers, cops, dirty needles, and all that shit.

But in Switzerland where heroin is legal and heroin addicts are gainfully employed taxpayers who have full access to the drugs they depend on and counselors to help them, they are much much much better off than alcoholics.

The fact that alcohol is so neurotoxic and can cause severe, irreversible brain damage is enough for it to be worse than benzo addiction.

I have seen both. Benzo withdrawals are mostly bad physical shit like a multitude of sicknesses and some depression related symptoms, too. Alcohol withdrawal patients are much worse off, mentally. Long enough abuse WILL do it's toll on the brain and essentially can drive the person to a level of insanity and slaughter a lot of their braincells.

I've seen an alcoholic drink mouthwash and cologne to get their fixes. The more dependent people can die from withdrawal, and in serious cases it's not uncommon.

That's why alcohol patients in clinics have mouthwash that has no alcohol and has an ingredient to induce vomiting.

"Some countries, such as UK and Switzerland, prescribe heroin to addicts to slowly wean them off of it. These countries led to other countries such as Canada, Germany, and Australia to test the prescription programs of heroin."

Having seen the effects of Heroin withdraw and having experienced the effects of alcohol withdraw, I must say that in my personal opinion heroin withdraw is much worse.

The fact that alcohol is so neurotoxic and can cause severe, irreversible brain damage is enough for it to be worse than benzo addiction.

Quoted for truth. I wish I could have benzos that weren't nuerotoxic instead of drinks. I remember reading a study about a handful of benzos which weren't nuerotoxic, the rest of the benzos weren't mentioned. I couldn't get into the scholarly database to find the article on the neurotoxcicity of these selected benzos, if anyone happens to have an article like this, email me or something. I had to take Wikipedia's word for it. Regardless, there's no debate that you're still at less of a risk than you would be with alchohol.

I used to be anti-alchocol, now I drink a bit, but I still try to keep it in check. I'd say the most frequent I've drank is maybe three nights in a row, and that only happened once. You have to be careful with it just like you would any other substance.

I think alchohol persists because it's so damn easy to make. Honestly, is there any drug that's easier to produce?
