does anyone know of a program i can download that will let me build a simulated machine? like something that will let me put things together and see how theyll work. and i need something that involves gears and machinery preferably, like if you wanted to "build" a mechanical watch with gears, youd be able to w/ this program.

i got this:
http://www.emachineshop.com/machine-shop/Download/page100.html

and it gave me the idea. it is a program that will allow you to design parts, then, if you want, you can order the custom parts.

i use to have a technology class where we built bridges on a computer and it had a list of supplies and cost then you built your bridge then you could virtually test it. the goal was to make the cheapest working bridge.

anyway, does anyone know of anything like this i can download? it would be cool to get the bridge game, but i would rather have something that would allow me to build things other than bridges and just test how they work.

i posted here because it seems like this would be a more knowledgeable thus logical place to post.
