Tl;dr: Why are some bowls of meth taking an extremely long time to recrystallize? On the order of 2mins from liquid to pure white Crystie puddle. Kind of a "water dope" appearance; however, I don't truly know what that term means.


Details:
My knowlage in meth/speed is that it should recrystallize within 5-15seconds after the heat is removed, and will recrystallize into white semi-clear crystal like puddle.

Recently it has seemed some meth recrystallizing extremely slowly. In the area of 60 seconds to even begin to change from a pure liquid "oily/watery" appearance to a white crystal puddle. This process is very slow, and recrystallizes unevenly in a polka dot pattern. After around 2-3mins it will be fully recrystallized and completely solid white, with minimal 'veins' or 'webs' throughout.

Within about 30secons the puddle appears to be solid, however still resembling water. Not moving around like water, just looks clear. The puddle will not move when rotated.

When lit, it burns like normal meth; however, "softer" or "slower". Such as the hits look smaller as the bowl seems like it is not filling with a huge amount of rapidly spinning smoke.

Using the same gear, this has happened with 4 out of 9ish bowls, using three different pipes.

Any suggestions on how/why this is happening? My guess is the quality, most likely very cut up, or pure bunk. I do not believe it is MSM as the horrible first hit and 'glass like' appearance does not apply.

thats good, you have some thick dope. If its burning slow why are you complaining? lick your finger and touch where the dope is to instantly recrystalize it. Just make sure its not too hot so it doesnt break.

I thought I was going to say "lab tips, nigga." Instead, I ended up having to say that a phase state shift is not in fact recrystallization from solution.

As for what's going on, well... I'd say it's pretty obvious that you're getting two phase-state shifts. Substance X forms a clear, noncrystalline, amorphous mass - by your own description - within 30 seconds. Substance Y then shifts phase state to an apparently-crystalline form in the time between the 1 and 3 minute marks, disrupting the structure of the amorphous organic glass and thus disturbing its optical properties irrespective of the optical properties of substance Y, yadda yadda, yadda yadda...

Just for shits and giggles, apply a little gentle heat when the first "polka dots" start forming in the cool spots. See if you can re-melt substance Y without melting substance X. Just for the fuck...

...by your description, you could probably get a mp for both of them. This might even be a good start on identifying them. 'n as I've mentioned elsewhere on the site (lab tips, nigga)... even if you can't identify a substance or don't have a database of prior discovery to compare it with, you can still characterize a substance by documenting its properties, which is good enough to claim discovery if no one else has put in that work on that substance before. Which is cool. Nothing wrong with working with unnamed substances you've successfully characterized, and I honestly believe humanity lost a little something when GC/MS started popping out recognized names from a computer categorization database. Hell of a lot more convenient, but less actual science involved.

Someone needs to just go back to the oldschool and have the kiddies work with shit a computer hasn't identified, just to see how it's done. I guess if I'm ever alone with any kiddies in an unsupervised room, I'll know what to do... for the good of humanity, and for science.
