You know i never gave this show a chance (i normally watch any big budget tv production, as generally speaking big budget = good)
but it is actually pure televised gold.

yeah, i love this show and have been watching it since the miniseries that started this series.
it is understandable why this show isnt more popular. it does look like a cheesy sci fi, which is a dying genre, and the fact that the really old series that the current series is revisioned from was terrible. so a lot of people dont really give it a chance.
i know its a big claim, but today's BSG is in my opinion, the greatest science fiction series created. where as most other sci-fi's really belong in the genre of fantasy (you know the type, heroes fighting villains with unpronouncable names), BSG is really a mix of political and personal drama with a sci-fi wrapping, and is therefore something that is rather unique.
the special effects are very well done, and so are the orchestral pieces, and these do help polish an already great piece of work. signature scenes such as the silence of space combat doesnt hinder its uniqueness either

yeah i like how theres minimal treknobabble (i.e heisenberg compensator to solve the problem of the heinsenberg uncertainy principle) like i like how star trek tries to be hard science fiction, but sometimes too far. I HATE IT HOW THEY END AN EPISODE WITH THE SOLUTION BEING "OMG MODIFY THE PHASE VARIANCE" OR "OMG TACYONS UPLOAD A TACYON INVERTER MATRIX TO THE DILITHIUM DEFLECTOR COUPLINGS IN JEFFRIES TOOB NINE APLHA"
BSG is more like a drama in space, with all the socio-political problems in a very non superficial setting, where humanities morals are REALLY put to the test.
BSG is one of my favourite programs. I'd say that it's my favourite sci-fi.
I really can't wait for the second half of season 4.
BSG is the best sci fi of the past decade, and the only justifiable and GOOD remake of anything off the top of my head.
Can't wait for tomorrow.
