I've just got an idea that may help settle the conflicts between Israel and Palestine in Gaza. Artificial land. Since Gaza is bordered to the West by the Mediterranean Sea. Its possible to build artificial land to extend the area of Gaza. The land could be constructed out of garbage, cement, clay, and dirt. The building of the artificial land would most likely cost less than supporting the Israelis. And it would be a good political gesture. The construction project could even bring both countries to help each other (although doubtful.)

Oops I didn't realize there was already a thread about this. I'll just paste this post over there.

If somebody kicked you out of your house and moved in, and put up a new house for you made out of garbage, I think you'd still be pretty pissed.

You're dumb dude. First off it's more than just lack of land that Palestinians are after.....there are certain parts of Israel that are sacred in the Muslim religion, which is why every other Muslim nation is pissed at Israel. Also it's not so much lack of land as it is national soverighty which their after as well. And creating artificial land isn't very effective. This idea is an epic failure.

The land would not be holy land.

Google the phrases "xeric moisture regime" "irrigation salinity" and "effects of salinity"

Then look up the cost of land reclamation in the Netherlands (a country with a wet temperate climate), in particular the Zuidersee and Delta Works.

Then realise that, even neglecting all social, historical and moral ills, this idea is not a shining embodiment of brilliance.
