Fail.

You're only saying that because you're not a (motor)bike person. I chuckled.

p.s. Comerade when you read this tell me how much you'll sell your rims for, because if you haven't seen a dusty little thread already I've picked up an EF Falcon.

No, I like motorbike, I'm saying it because I think it's unfunny and unoriginal.

Actually Frinks, since you're the resident road race bike connoisseur in here, and you're online, would you happen to know much about Peugeot bikes?

There's one in my shed that looks like it's a million years old at least, with it'srustpinholes in the chromework and ancient flat tyres etc. I spied Peugeot emblazoned on it, under the dust of course, and was a litle surprised. It was my grandfather's bike at some stage (in the 70's, I'm pretty sure a relative once told me).

I thought it might be a weird venture Peugeot went of on after getting sick of just making it's (mostly crappy) cars or something, and as such it might be a novelty, and I might be able to flog it of to some enthusiast like you for $50 or $60 (which would go towards an exhaust system on the budget cruiser). Hell, I'd part with it for a twenty as it's just a pile of junk in my shed.

Maybe it's not worth anything at all, I'm just curious. Could you tell me if it's worth anything or is any good? I was almost tempted to restore it, a fleeting thought I admit, as I have better things to do with my money.

EDIT: Edited for coherency, and so I don't sound like a baboon. It's not hard for me to, seeing as I know fuck all 'bout bikes. I just don't want to look like I think it might be worth like a hundred bucks then be told it's a lousy low quality mass manufactured venture that Peugeot mistakenly ook into th world of bicyclemaking breily before realising the marke wasn't profitable because their bikes were crap due to thei lack of knowledge & experiene in the field.

Wow. Gearheads humour has lost its touch recently...

Meh, we just don't have enough of it, so it's easy to get jaded.

(didn't laugh :o)

I don't know anything about pushbikes, but my dad bought a Peugeot road race bike back in the 70's. Apparently it cost him a lot of money at the time. It's still in the garage strapped to the roof, waiting for a new gearset.

Nuhhh I don't know a lot about them I'm afraid.

I only really know of the UO8 and UO9 which were around in the 1970s, neither of which are worth a great deal of money (maybe £50 for a good one). Google-fu they both use simplex gears but the UO8s have cottered cranks. If the derailler mount is integral to the frame rather than on a dropout, it's an earlier model like a PA10.

That's a UO8

Restore it though, it's fun.

Clearing out my stepdads dads garage I found a series 2 Raleigh Chopper - worth over £400 if properly restored
