Alright everyone, so my dog was just prescribed some 50mg tramadol pills for her pain but my parents dont want to give it to her because they just make her super drowzy and we dont like to see her like that, so my question to you all is: Would it be safe to take these? And, what mg should I start off with? And just so you know, all the presciption label says tramadol 50 mg, nothing else. Thanks Totse!

if you "loved your dog" you would give it the medication for its pain since it is obvious it is in pain. The vet prescribed the meds to the dog so it wouldn't have suffer. I guess you get your stupidity from your parents then.

I can't believe i have to spell this out for you dude. TRAMADOL IS TRAMADOL. What do you think there will be arsenic or cyanide in pet medicine. All you have to do is ID the pill. i have got pheobarbital prescribed to ME that was the same exact pill prescribed to my friends dog for seizures.

You are the one making your dog fucking suffer because the medication does what it is suppoesd to do because the dog "gets drowsy." if it gets drowsy give it a fucking half of a pill instead of trying to get high off of its medication. also tramadol has stimulant qualities due to its SNRI activity so i doubt it is going to mke your dog very drowsy though it could have a different effect on dogs.

alright well im not gonna get worked up over some asshole that i dont even know that ill never meet that has nooo idea about this situation, and to dexingsmotpoker thanks for answering reasonably, now that youve said how it sucks I probably wont even waste my time, I've seen the word "tramadol" popping up here and there for a while, and when I saw it, it rang some bells, so I figured I'd come ask my fellow totseans for advice, thats it. Man I miss the days where I could make a thread about anything I needed to know and the first post would be the answer I needed without idiots running their mouths. So I guess I'll just let the pills sit in the bottle, probably won't take em.

tramadol is cool given you have no opiate tolerance, it used to fuck me up like 4 years ago.
