I've gotten into this idea of making my room/apartment be the ultimate.....i dont know....place to get high or something lol. I have the giant speakers, but what i really need is a trippy kind of moving light that i can get just get lost in. Me and my friend were thinking about getting something that would be like a disco light, shining rays of light through the smoke we'll eventually fill our rooms with. Except I've looked all over chicago for something small and preferably under $100, and came up with nothing. The closest thing i found was an American DJ rotating sphere that shot rays of white light across the room, but it was too expensive and out of my league....
Anyone ever encounter a lighting setup that was particularly interesting? I also know someone had like, a ball of light to look at when they took acid...?? gonna be doing that soon....would be nice to try out

Staring at a cheap, multi-coloured, lightball in your room while on acid would suck. Go outside and look at the moonrays.

You really need to reevaluate(or maybe just evaluate) your situation in life if your willing to invest $100 on a god damn disco ball because thats your idea of fun while while stoned. god damn it, buy a few video games or something.

1. A neon lamp - $20
2. Lava lamp - ? (can't be more than 20)
3. One of those tornado lamp ones, it's got a bunch of beads in it and propeller at the bottom and it lights up. I used to have one when I was 8.

i don't know, I've lost interest in videogames since i started college. I mean, $100 is yeah- A LOT, but that's the cheapest anything i was looking at cost. But i don't really need to re-evaluate anything just because i spend irrationally.....money is money, when i run out.....then whatever, at least I'll have some nice stuff.

Some fire trucks, police cars, ambulances, etc. have oscillating lights on the sides. If you could wire a few up in a room and watch the lights bounce around and side to side.

but it was too professional-looking for me
Thats a pretty shitty limitation you have set upon yourself.
go think about life and ask us again later?

well it was geared for professional DJs and production crews so like, it included the metal attachment for hanging from like, light rigs and stuff. And it was pretty large and expensive, that's all i meant. OUT OF MY LEAGUE.

oh i found exactly what i wanted after doing a "similar product" search on amazon based on one of the products you guys suggested.
Its crazy, i can't wait till i get this in a smoke filled room and watch the lasers and LEDs scatter across my room. (especially with the holographic lens that come as attachments)
