I'm a junior in high school and for the past few months we've been doing a research paper project. I happened to do mine on religion and morality. Our next step now is we have to do a 4 minute presentation in the class as a character that relates to our topic, because I didn't want to be the pope or jesus I'm going as george carlin. I need 3 props and I'm still writing the speech but it's in two days.

I just need some advice on giving presentations. I'm pretty sure that I have some kind of social disorder and just the thought of being up there makes me want to throw up. I understand that most of the kids won't give a shit and won't even listen but it's still intimidating. Plus if we can't use our papers to read off of I'm fucked, it's a lot to memorize. Any suggestions?

Do what thou wilt All,

The only advice I can give you is to study yourself in order to better any further speeches that you may make in the future. Experiment.

Try practicing addressing speeches in front of crowds, then write down what happened down the most specific details afterward. Include time of day, emotions, environment, and any factors that may have interfered or had an effect on the experiment.

Once you have all of your data written down. Ask yourself some tough questions such as: What could I have done to make it better? What is something I can do to help me relax? How do these anxious feelings get triggered within my body? What can I do to prevent them from being triggered? etc. etc.

Then do some further research and experimentation/practice. This should help you get better at doing just about anything. I hope this helps.

Just learn the topics, then go up and talk. Say whatever you want. Don't memorize it.

Practice it a few times. Practice talking about your subject material with people you know or just practice things on your own.

If you're nervous while presenting, look at the back of the room while you're talking. It will seem to the teacher that you're looking people in the eye.

Talk to your teacher and let them know. If you really want to practice, ask if they'll teach some presentation skills. Most teachers are excellent presenters; they do it every day.
