Cover my gf's room with post it notes while she's away.
And have all the post it notes say every special thing we've done, All her "best" parts, why she's great etc.
And have loads signed by all her friends but collected by me.

Flowers never go amiss with most women.
Jewellery is good but keep it plain and sweet therefore she doesn't feel bad if she grows out of it or changes her mind but is still a piece she could wear forever.

I have never found chocolates particularly good.

If her tastes are more sophisticated then a good liquer or smoke may be her tastes.

And finally if it boils down to her not feeling sexy then go with her to get "interesting" lingerie.

Pay attention to her. That is, actually listen when she talks to you. If she talks about a problem, don't jump in and try to solve it--just listen. Maybe she just wants to talk it out.

Respect her wishes and desires, within reason. If she wants to see a movie that seems boring to you--man up and go--it won't hurt you. If she wants to get drunk and rob a bank, find another girl.

Hugs are always good.

It depends entirely on the girl. I would think my SO was fucking retarded if they went out and bought me a $50 bouquet of flowers that were going to die in a week.

Do something with her you know she likes to do, but you don't like to do so much. And don't bitch about it. She'll recognize the sacrifice you're making and it'll be appreciated.

Flowers, yes. I once bought flowers for my ex but when I got to her place, she was asleep. I didn't wanna wake her up, but took this pink heart shaped piece of paper, wrote something like "To my sleeping beauty" or whatever on it and put it on the table, so it was the first thing she saw when she woke up. That made her happy and her being happy mae me even happier.

Also, maybe a poem? Like I wrote the shitties poem this one time, but it was sincere and slightly romantic, she loved it. Fuck my ex girlfriend was the sweetest thing ever :(

My next girlfriend is so fucking getting that post it thing though, that is fucking brilliant.
