I have a huge box of electrical parts that vary from 15 - 40 years old that my dad was going to get rid of. I've had it all in a box that just been sitting around for a couple years and I want to make something with it. Any ideas?
I have intermediate to advanced soldering skills, but little actual training in electrical theory and what not.

Some pics of what I have to work with.

I would think up something that I really wanted to build. Then, I would sell all of that old shit on Ebay. Finally I would use the money made to finance the new project.

Make a box with lots of switches and lights, and wire them so the lights turn on in patterns. My grandfather made something like this, and it was really neat.

Looks to me like the best thing you have going for you is a fairly decent collection of what could be empty cardboard boxes.
