The door sensors i was specifically wondering about are the ones in Wal-Mart, and i was wondering if an unscanned barcode on, say, a dvd would set the alarm off?????
I know the security strips that they tag on the inside would, but if it was removed, could one simply pass undetected through the door??
thanks in advance to any and all information. reply posts are greatly appriciated.

Barcodes have nothing to do with security. The barcode is only there for product identification and price, so as long as you remove the security tag you will be fine , well as long as no one see you conceal the item.

Watch out for Phase 2/3 source-tagged merchandise.

wow phase 3 is a bitch. I've never seen it before I don't think.

Yeah you gotta be careful. The only place I've seen phase 3 so far was a sensormatic tag inside the handle of a paintball gun, and inside a lanyard that came with an expensive LED flashlight.
Source tagging is becoming more and more common, some stores actually require manufacturers to source tag high-theft items. Phase 2 is common, one example is the checkpoint tag sandwiched inside the packaging for Duracell batteries.

How'd you find the tag if it was inside the handle?
