View Full Version : My own adieu...

I've spent countless hours here clacking away at my keyboard, deep in heated debate over this nation and it's government. Though I have been absent for a long moment in time, I have not forgotten what transpired here.
Now that it is coming to an end, I just wanted to say that no matter what was said here, I had a great time, learned quite a bit, and made some lifelong friends. For this, I will never forget P:LRC, let alone totse.com
If anyone would like to remain in contact until we find an alternative (from this death shall be the birthing of something new), I can be reached by email at desired.hush1@gmx.com or on AIM, screen name: desired hush
I would also like to encourage anyone still interested in political debate to check out the IRC channel on SlashNET. Channel name is #plrc. Brilliant, right? :D
Until again our paths do cross, light laughter and sweet waters to you all.
Namaste ~
Fare thee well, m'lady. :)

The few years I've been visiting this forum I've come across a more diverse array of opinions than anywhere else and it's been a privilege to argue with all of you!
There are many contributors to P:LRC whose ideas I have a lot of respect for, and I think it would be a great shame for them and for the people around them if they don't one day act on their beliefs. We've all spent many hours developing our own ideas and having the flaws in them (usually very bluntly) pointed out to us. But ultimately whats the point of all these ideas if we never act on them? In the past I have disliked the preachy sounding goodbye posts urging others to "get out there and live their lives"; the message is over done and usually sounds hollow. But with the end of totse what better way to end our time on it?
For the most part I know neither your names nor faces, nor anything about you. But know this: In recent times I have been moving from being a "thinker" to a "doer". The coming to an end of this forum may well serve as the final push into regular activism. If you one day decide to act on the beliefs that we have developed together (whether we agree on them or not ;)) then in some way we have connected, and all of this has been worthwhile.
Catch you later, friends :D

Guys, just go register at Zoklet:
http://bbs.zoklet.net/index.php
There may not be a Politics forum at the moment, but Zok is working on it. Give it a week or so.

If zok sets up a politics forum and others join it then I may well be tempted to post there.
I am relatively new to totse.
I found this site back in 7th grade trying to find out how to make bombs on the internet.
After intensely reading just about every single text file, and nearly blowing myself up, I discovered the forums.
All of the forums, this one especially have greatly helped to educate and intellectualize me.
I had hopes of becoming a well respected poster and maybe even one day a moderator.
Actually it was just yesterday that I reached one of goals of becoming a regular.
It's sad to see this site go, it's too bad I never got to know you guys better.
This site has truly become part of my life over the past few years, I'll miss it a lot.
