Well I figured since this fighter jet known as totse is now spiraling downward, mere moments from crashing into the ground below, I'd give this underutilized forum a little bit of a send off.. I thought we could just reminisce about our personal favorite moments in sports in your life, whether it be a sport you watched or one you played in. Why not I guess.

My best moment is obvious if you've spent more than 10 minutes total on this forum - The Boston Celtics winning the 2008 championship. That was a great moment because I really have an affinity for every guy on that team.. Sports are totally illogical. There's no logical reason I could give a rats ass about the Celtics, I don't even live in MA, have no ties to the organization.. It's just a bunch of random athletic dudes that play this stupid game and get paid millions of dollars. I don't really understand how and why I keep watching this stuff, why I can about what becomes of Rajon Rondo and Leon Powe, people I've never met and probably never will. They're good guys, sure, but why do any of us idolize any sports team, even just as casual fans? What's the appeal?

I can't figure out why the Celtics victory meant so much to me, but I felt like I had taken the ride with them, lived the games the same way they did.. Sounds sort of creepy, but that's the mentality of every sports fan. It bonds people that had no prior reason to even look twice at one another. One little bounce of a ball can cause mass jubilation throughout millions of people worldwide. And it's all a stupid game. Those anti-sports totseans on the other forum can scoff all they want, but the power of sports is more powerful than they know, for everyone from ages 1 to 100. The strength, skill, pressure, expectations, drama, the weight on the shoulders of these athletes and staff, the adoration, devotion, hard work and drive, the leadership.. So many, many things that can be applied to every day life, so many lessons to learn from these stupid, pointless games.. And when your team wins it all, revel in it, watch those replays and listen to those play calls over and over again. Because as pointless as it all seems, this shit is very real, and they truly are heroes if only for a moment.

I guess if only the rest of totse could have appreciated that too, we could have had a really great forum. No matter how you feel you have to admit that sports mean a lot more than god damn Call of Duty 4 or whatever kind of bullshit they're talking about.
Like I said in the other thread, I'm going to miss this and hope some of you guys come along to Zok's forum, I'll need all the familiar faces I can get.
