Anyway, you always seemed to know everything that went on here; all people had to do was follow you around (not that I did, but I ran across your posts everywhere) to know what was going on behind the scenes.
I pretty much just stayed to the shadows and just soaked up all the information I came across like a sponge. Now is the time to move on and find new sources of information and use it well, but never forget where we learned how to Read, Know, and Do.

When we wake up tomorrow, there will be a huge void on the internet, terabytes of information lost but not forgotten, terabytes more of potential information displaced, and a valuable resource gone.

But here's probably my last take on this. People wonder why Jeff had new ads running, and seemed to be trying to improve the site... and then he suddenly came up with this closure announcement. I believe Mr. Hunter came across a rather large issue with a problem with the database/post-tables - a problem which he does not know how to fix (this version is fairly new to him too), or a problem which would take literally months to fix, with Totse being slow during the entire process. I think Jeff ran into a huge problem with the site itself, and that's why he suddenly decided to close it. In any event, there is no chance he will change his mind now. Prepare to go down with the ship, as I plan to do. There will be no substitute for me on this.

Thats exactly what I mean, that explanation fits almost perfectly. You would think that he would just wipe the posts and start over though. I'm sure the site would load faster if the BBS had 800,000 or so less posts. It would be nice if the text files stayed. I have no real use for them anymore, but there are many people that do. It was actually the Ka Fucking Boom files that STOPPED me from making bombs and what not as they made me realize just how dangerous they were. I still made my share of explosions and what not though as a teenager. I just never stepped up to anything that could do any real damage.

Now, TheGreenDoctor will only exist as my cardomain name, and as a joke between me and a couple of friends.

And, I agree with thegreendoctor. I made a thread in H&S suggesting that the post counts be removed, and I have also made a thread in HB saying we should do some spring cleaning and delete all the threads on a regular basis. HB used to do this once there were so many pages of threads. It was nice. :) There is no need to keep a bunch of baggage. The archives were intended to keep good stuff while the junk got trashed.

Amidst all the lies, smoke, mirrors, tap-dancing, chicanery and other nonsense....there was always one poster that seemed to give us the truth more than anyone else. And that was Spectral. Or at the very least his version of facts (whether in very technical terms or common layman speak) seemed to be the most sensible and non-refutable.

I've said this to Spectral once or twice privately, but a small part of me will always suspect he really is Jeff Hunter himself.....because he really was several steps ahead of everyone. Not to mention he filtered Totse info to the masses MUCH MORE THOROUGHLY than any of people that should really have been doing so....the owner, admins and mods.

Of all the things I've said and done on Totse, I'm still embarrased at my n00bishness just several months into my stint here. I made the mistake of trying to flame Spectral a little bit, thinking he was just another internet wannabe. Boy was I wrong. Of all the people I encountered on Totse....Spectral was absolutely the most entertaining, informative, and truthful poster. There aren't many people I bow down to intellectually whether IRL or online...but he certainly is one of them.

It is for all of these reasons why I laughed so hard when people mistakenly spewed the idiocy that I was just a puppet account of his. Sorry folks, but I haven't been the puppet account for anyone else.....past or present. Nope, I'm just some fool that found this place around 2006 with absolutely no agenda whatsover.

I didn't mean or intend to be wowed by Spectral's laughs and brilliance......but I was, and still am to this day. Of all the things "lost" in all of this, I'll miss being in the presence of his greatness the most. Now all you peeps can flame me, call me a faggot, say whatever you will.......but all that really is, is showing respect to the person that to me has "given" more to Totse than anyone else that I saw, at least in the almost 3 years that I was here. Whether it was "Totse info" or just his entertaining/laugh producing posts....he was a fuckin "ICON" to the very letter of the word.

Here's to you Spectral......you are on a whole different level, man. Kudos.......
