The Multicultural Roman Empire
Our knowledge of Black people present in Britain in early times is scanty. However, studies by scholars, archaeologists and historians have pieced together evidence about the lives of Black Romans.

One historian, Anthony Birley, in his work The African Emperor: Septimius Severus, explains that between AD 193 and 211 the Roman empire embraced a multicultural mix of peoples from Syria, Germany, Britain, Spain and Africa. Eight African men had positions of command in the northern Roman legions, and others held high rank as equestrian officers.

One of these Africans was Emperor Septimius Severus (AD 145-211). He arrived in Britain in AD 203 and when he died in AD 211 he was cremated in York (Eboracum), the capital of Roman Britain.

Septimius Severus was the first Roman emperor not born and raised in Italy. His father's family originally came from Libya (Leptis Magna) and his mother's family were Etruscans (Italian). His grandfather, a knight of the Roman empire, owned land near Rome, but Septimius grew up in North Africa with his father.

Septimius married Julia Domna, a Syrian, daughter of a high priest. The name Domna is derived from the archaic Arabic word dumayna, meaning 'black'. Septimius and Julia had two sons, Caracalla, the elder, born in AD 188, and Geta.

Because Septimius's ancestors were Roman citizens, he was entitled to be educated in Rome. He briefly practised as a lawyer, became a Roman senator, and from the age of 24 took part in campaigns in Spain, Syria, Gaul, Sicily and Athens. He spent much time extending Rome's borders eastwards across the Tigris in Mesopotamia and the Balkans. His education and experience won him strong support within the empire. He was described by contemporaries such as the famous physician Galen and the historians Herodian and Cassius Dio as 'a man of such energy...wise and successful...that he left no battle except as victor'.

What the hell?! There were no prominent nigger generals, politicians, or scholars during the entire history of the Romany Empire. The few that did manage to see the civilized Roman world usually worked as slaves and gladiatorial combatants (nothing like seeing a dead nigger on the arena floor). I have seen some accounts of black gladiators, but Romans viewed them as poor quality since they could not wield swords and shields effectively and didn’t know how to work in groups. They were considered fodder.

Yeah it’s bullshit. “Black history” professors are complete idiots. Last year I took a course specializing on writing research papers that refute claims of bogus historians. For my research paper I completely destroyed the arguments of a black professor in Virginia who wrote a school text book essentially claiming that without blacks America would not exist as a modern nation. Of course he cried racism and got his way with the publisher. I take great joy in disproving afro-centric revisionist history as a vain attempt to make up lack of culture.

He sure does not look black but on the other hand i know some black people who are mixed and do not look black, the so called "coons" do not have anything to be ashamed of though, if he is not black, they have others that are more likely to be black, one soundly defeated the descendants of the mighty cracker roman army at Adowa in the form of Menelik II, they could also identify with the kings (Shabaka among others) of the 25th dynasty in Egypt, (The Ethiopian conquest) and Shaka in South Africa, they may also want to look at the leaders of the Mali civilization and the Ashanti of West Africa. I do not believe they need a "Nigger Roman Emperor" to feel good.

Wow, I have to admit that I am quite mesmerized by the level of conversation and ignorance in this forum. Before you begin to talk about disproving afro-centric revisionist history you should first try to prove your own history, not the limited edition you seem to be relying your knowledge-based upon or the version Hollywood played in movies (for it seems to be your only historical database). Well last time I checked, entertainment's goal is quite the opposite of education. You see, you cannot study the history of any country or any nations for that matter without studying that of nations that preceded the given nation or country or else the word History by definition would loose any rationale. So instead of responding to your ignorant, idiotic expressions of thoughts and giving a harsh response to your Xenophobia I will treat your ignorance as a disease which needs to be cured with knowledge.
