A nice thing about older movies (other than the fact that they tend to be good) is that they reflected a white world (how America used to be).

A great film-noir movie is the 1947 film "Out of the Past". Robert Mitchum is a detective hired by a gangster to track down a woman played by a stunning Jane Greer.

Certainly a film ahead of its time.
