Canadians invented hockey in the late 1800s, and once dominated it the way African-Americans dominate basketball. Eastern Europeans reinvented the game and made up nearly 70 years of hockey experience on the Canadians in just two decades.

Sound anything like what we're witnessing on the basketball court?

Eastern Europeans introduced finesse, speed and creative passing to hockey. No longer could you just dump the puck into the zone and maul the guy in the corner. You had to play the game. The Canadians weren't stupid and lazy. They were just slow to adjust to a new, superior brand of hockey.

Country patriotism has always been conditional. It's foolish to be patriotic toward the country where you have citizenship, except when that country is of-by-for and all about your own race.

Did your country give you your cultural heritage by passing laws? No. Did your country make you what you are biologically by passing laws? No. If all your country has done for you is build roads, carry mail, overtax you, abuse you in the courts, initiate wars and social programs that you didn't approve of, endebt your descendants to feed foreigners, and restrict your freedoms so that the rich can be more comfortable and the Jews can be safer, why should you feel any patriotism in return?

Why don't you look up the roster for the 2004 Argentine Olympic basketball team and mark the names (Farabello, Pelussi, Montecchia, Oberto, Ginobili, etc.) which are mostly Italian. Then, go to Argentina, or seek out some Argentines, and bask in their Italianness; they even have this pleasant Italian lilt to their Spanish, which other South Americans make fun of.
