If I was AT&T/Verizon/Bell South (and those three are 90% of
all landlines), then I would very, very much prefer to just
give 'em all the records than have to make selective retrieval
of 5 cent transactions N years after the fact. My costs rise
in proportion to the specificity of the request, and fall on
the generality.
