L0phtCrack 2.5 is coming! Get
ready to sniff, crack, faster.
12.26.1998
The presskit just took on a radical new look. Now designed to accomodate the volume
of press that we receive, the flashy graphics have been removed and the page has taken
on a more standard "L0pht" look.
With its initial release, I still have to go back and dig up some of the authors for
past articles. If an author is "undocumented", I need to research. If an author is
"unknown", the information wasn't found when I looked. I would also like to link
back to all the sources (ie., Wired) once I get the time. If you see something you're
particularly concerned with (ie., you're an 'unknown author' or represent one of the
sources and want your site linked), write me (
tan@l0pht.com) and I'll fix that link right away.
Its been a while since the last update (almost 6 months) and a whole lot more has
happened. We're up to 128 items with 84 of those comming in 1998 so it looks like
we did a good job of getting the word out. I hope to keep these pages up to date
more often in the future but probably shouldn't make any promises... ;-)

The following statistics have been compiled with regard to the presskit as a whole.
- 1998: 49 items + 35 senate items = 84 items
- 1997: 27 items
- 1996: 11 items
- 1995: 6 items
- total: 127 items
Notes regarding statistics for given years:
- 1998: There is a two to three month (June/July and August) black hole that needs
to be filled in. This includes a story AP Newswire did that ran in local papers all
across the country. I am hoping that if we manage to get anything scanned, its the
pictures from the Boston Globe in August and the Improper Bostonian in July which are
real good group shots of us.
There are still a few outstanding items in just about every year so these statistics
are by no means final for any of these years. We're also hoping to add more quicktimes
in the future for some of the tv media we have received.
