Microsoft, you suck... again
Internet privacy researcher Richard Smith released four potential security problems with Microsoft Outlook 2002. The security problems actullay could leave the program open to more virus issues. Among the issues Smith called critical is the ability for an e-mail that includes a special HTML tag, known as an IFRAME, to run an attached program. That weakness could be used by a virus to spread to computers through Outlook.

Microsoft, your shit just isn't up to par
CNet news.com reports on a story that a cable provider was testing Microsoft enhanced TV cable boxes with an audience of 100 people. The people stated that they were looking for more out of thier boxes, like networking between PC's and TVs. The cable company said that they are looking forward in using Microsoft in some way in the future. I don't want Microsoft in my TV, I have seen what they have done to some desktops. I have a TiVo helping me with my TV viewing and it has never crashed. Guess what... it's a Linux thing.

Robots? Where the hell is my RealDoll?
On an story I saw on CNet news.com, they discuss the new robots from Honda and Sony. The Sony SDR-4X acutally sings and dances. Well, I don't know about you, but that smacks of stupidity. Sony says, they are an entertainment company, so naturally they would create something entertaining. I have see enough Aibo's in my day already. Honda's Asimo is is better designed for work. Masato Hirose, Honda's chief engineer in charge of Asimo's development said "It is in the end a machine, a tool," Well, that would let me know never buy a Sony car. More located

Open source interactive Television
I was working at my desk and some messaged me with a story about
Linux4.tv, a new project for the folks who love interactive TV. The source code is avaiable for download from their site and they state that they have support for DVD, Streaming Video and local MPEG playback. It looks like it's going to be one of those competing for the TiVo place but I still love my TiVo. Thumbs up and Thumbs down rock.
