http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/russia/2672459/Vladimir-Putin-picked-as-worlds-most-influential-person.html

I recall Time magazine's 2007 list of the 100 most influential people failed to put Bush on their list, instead filling it with Hollywood personalities. It looks like they didn't forget him on their 2008 list. (http://www.time.com/time/specials/2007/article/0,28804,1733748_1733757_1735529,00.html) When I saw the Vanity Fair list, I immediately hit ctrl+f and typed in "bush". Nothing. How retarded can these people be? Bush isn't one of the world's most powerful or influential people, but Shigeru Miyamoto is? Look at the list. How many of these people can you honestly say have more power than the U.S. president?

You mean the president with laughable public support? The one who the majority of americans see now as a uneducated (though he is) fool who has a lulz worthy command of the english language, and put the country nearly 10 billion dollars in debt?

If he is indeed powerful, then it must be in bad way :\

Does Tom Hanks have the power to put the country into debt? How many people on that list have the power to do anything close to that? Apparently you think that because Bush is an idiot or isn't well-liked that he doesn't hold any power. This list wasn't billed as "The 100 most powerful people who are also well-liked."

I never said I didn't like him or that he was a fool, I said a majority of americans do. He is educated, but pretty much got shafted, he should have never gone for a second term.

Also, with great power comes great responsibility.

My point is that as the U.S. president he is definitely more powerful than most of the people on that list. If this were ten years ago the case would be the same with Clinton.

And while the amount of public support he has may have some effect on his influence, it definitely doesn't make him less powerful that the head of Nintendo.

He may technically have more power then other people but he will never get the same respect of even regular people. He has caused far too many fuck ups.

Public support means nothing because American leftists like you who oppose Bush have no guns.

Power is an illusion created to keep you complacent.
