He comes out strong for Israel and then realizing that he may alienate his liberal base, issues a statement contradicting his original. For example, here Obama is talking about his support of the traditional Israeli position that Jerusalem must remain forever undivided under Israel rule:

I never said that any of the propositions you pointed out are not true, I'm sure they are. I just think you live in a fairy tale land if you think the UN is unbiased against Israel. The UN passes these propositions to keep Israel from defending itself but does nothing to spot the terrorism that is relentlessly being unleashed against Israel.
