She was an anarchist political activist traveling around the country researching examples of anarchist economics at work in the States. Her journals don't contain a single mention of Obama, and the only reference to the presidential election at all was her trip to protest the RNC (something that many anarchists did, since they despise Republicans). There is absolutely nothing to indicate that she had any involvement whatsoever in the Obama campaign.

I can personally attest to the fact that it's very easy to get lost in New Orleans if you're new to the area and on foot/bike, since the streets are structured in a kind of weird repetitive way -- you can think you're 3 miles from your destination and actually be only 3 blocks away, and vice versa. Of course it isn't too smart to be riding around alone in that city that late at night, regardless of race/class/gender, but that's the beside the point.

Why can't white people freely travel through certain black neighborhoods? All individuals should be able to feel safe wherever they go.

There is a certain percentage of African Americans that harbor violent, racist and prejudice thoughts against whites and these certain individuals need to be dealt with accordingly. I approve of positively contributing African Americans - but statistics go to show that a majority of criminal offenders, are black. This news story is only an example of what I have said.
