I blink and months have passed
I pretend a life of class
Mine wasn't the only change
I see you now and it's so strange
in you my past I seem to see
staring out relentlessly
that life we live takes it's toll
leaving you icy cold
the scene stacks up too fast and tall
while vultures circle watching the fall
I look at what used to be
remembering when you were free
I try to spread the light
From the start, a pointless fight
I stare at you, my own reflection
we painstakingly ignore the tension
I think of when I lived the life
I wonder if you cry
in the shower, or late in bed
Do you live inside my head?
I try to tell you there's other ways
But I get high and it waits a day
I pretend a life of class
Mine wasn't the only change
I see you now and it's so strange
in you my past I seem to see
staring out relentlessly
that life we live takes it's toll
leaving you icy cold
the scene stacks up too fast and tall
while vultures circle watching the fall
I look at what used to be
remembering when you were free
I try to spread the light
From the start, a pointless fight
I stare at you, my own reflection
we painstakingly ignore the tension
I think of when I lived the life
I wonder if you cry
in the shower, or late in bed
Do you live inside my head?
I try to tell you there's other ways
But I get high and it waits a day
