One of the weirder headlines I've seen. I saw a story about this a few weeks ago too. I just think it's funny that the woman mentioned in this article is like "I had no other choice. Had to get rid of her!" when referring to her adopted daughter.
xxombie hurry up and move to Nebraska so you can be with your kind.
I don't see how you can abandon an 18 year old. They are not even yours to abandon at that point...

Hmmmm...I wonder... Could I put ads in the paper, "Parents! Accepting Bad Girls!. Had enough of the little darlin's? Send their pic & a resume of their abilities, habits & qualities. My little Safe Haven might be just the place to take them off your hands!" :D

Nothing easier than a girl with father issues.

niiice
though I feel bad for the daughter
The woman said her daughter had been diagnosed with a mental illness when she was 12 and had deep psychological scars from childhood abuse and from being left alone with her dead biological mother for a week.
:(
I want to comfort her, holder and...;)
well be nice to her :)

At least we know there's no limit as to how many (http://newsblogs.chicagotribune.com/triage/2008/09/father-leaves-n.html)you can abandon at a time.
The most eye-popping case in Nebraska occurred Wednesday, when a 34-year-old father deposited nine children ages 1 to 17 at Creighton University Medical Center -- and then walked away.

damn, imagine if you were that 12 year old, and your mom just ditched you somewhere, and never came back.
you know how fucked up that would feel? JUST IMAGINE!
that sort of happend to me.
when i was 11, i ended up being tooken into foster care, because the police raided my parents house
found a bunch of coke, and arrested them both, and i was hauled off to foster care for 4 years straight with no contact with any family what so ever
