Surprised I haven't seen this up here yet, earlier this morning I saw it when it was reported live and they were showing the blasts on major television stations.

And I'm aware that I misspelled "Israel" in the thread title, I noticed it immediately and went to correct it yet despite my multiple efforts totse's faggot ass bulletin board system will not respect my commandment.

I would recommend reading the BBC version (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/7802515.stm) over American news on any issue relating to Israel's military occupation of Palestine. Or any issue to be honost. America's lips are permanently glued to Israel's ass. BBC is unbiased. If you have the time, read both the BBC and CNN version, it's almost funny.

"Israel expects the understanding and support of the international community to its actions, as it confronts terrorism and advances the interest of all those who wish that peace and coexistence will prevail in our region."

Bahahaha. First they pull the terrorism card, then the very end just baffles me. Peace and coexistence? Do they not remember that they are the ones who began this conflict, and that it's their own selfish interests fueling it? Did they forget that they have been illegally occupying another country for what...over 30 years now, since the UN first told them to pull out in 1967? It appears so. I know most Americans have.

The UN relief agency in Gaza says 56 civilians have been killed by Israeli fire so far, the latest being five girls who died in Jabalia refugee camp when Israeli forces bombed a mosque near their home.

This is the type of stuff you won't hear about in American news. The truth. I don't recall hearing about Israel murdering any civilians in the CNN story.

What's happening in nauseating, but what goes round comes around, one day they'll pay for their barbarism, the new century will be Asia's century, the West is embarked on an irreversible decline path, one day there won't be any more US tax dollars to support Israeli savagery.

I cannot understand how some people in the world community can justify what Isreal is doing to the Palestinian people. No no, not Hamas, I'm talking about the 1.5 million people that live in Ghaza Strip... first they don't allow any supplies in or out of the area, then they proceed to bomb the living shit out of it with US money. Can you even fucking imagine the situation your average Palestinian is in? Palestinians are in a giant jail getting bombarded with no supplies left... Hamas even had to blow a hole in the wall so people could escape into egypt and get supplies.

The Red Cross described the situation in Gaza's hospitals as chaotic, with medical teams "stretched to the limit"

They say the goal of the operation is topple Hamas Looks to me that Ehud Olmert is trying to act tough for the Isreali people before Isreal's elections come up.

I just read a whole page article in the Chicago Tribune that detailed the horrors of Isrealis living near the Gaza Strip and how terrible it was when (get ready for this) 3 civilians were killed by a rocket as they took shelter in a bus stop. 3 dead Isreali civilians compared to 390+ Palestinians, around 42 of which have been children.

I don't know if you know who Andrew Bacevich is but, he recently wrote a book entitled The Limits of Power: An End to American Exceptionalism. In the book he talks about how the downfall of America will be brought on by a few factors, one of which is "imperial obligations". To paraphrase he says, "Many years from now, historians will look back and wonder how it came to be that American homeland security meant sending our military and our tax dollars to places such as Iraq and Afghanistan..." I think we can add Israel to that list.
