"Sitting in a Cafe in Madrid (Writing About The Weather)"

When the sun dips below the horizon
You cross your feet and pull the shades
And when the clock’s arms creek
Speaking in seconds and minutes all day

Ignore the calendars that resent you
Despite all the time they have lent you
They always come calling one day

Lost in a light, from the eyes of a girl
Always singing in her sleep
Hold me tight and tell me who I am
Blinking like a fire-alarm next to me

Spin in the tales of beauty
And ration every thought into meaning

And when the sun falls into your arms
She dreams of traffic jams and long drives home
Because each day we stand in lines and aisles
Always separate but close like kitchen floor tiles

All the faith that kept us up starts to give
As we fold ourselves and try to remember to fit
Into capable constrains that thread you close

Lost in a light, from the eyes of a girl
Always wishing you had set her free
Hold me tight and tell me who I am
Stuttering like record skips in my memory

Spin in the tales of beauty
And ration every thought into meaning

There’s always need for another chance
But the static paved to your window is no romance
Sweep across the night, cleaning the streets
Of derailed certainty with such a lack of decency

Spin in the tales of beauty
And ration every thought into meaning

Not exactly my first piece, but w/e, criticism/advice is much welcome.
