Compliance Monitoring Reports
In its May 2006 CALEA Second Report and Order, the FCC imposed a mandatory CALEA compliance reporting requirement
on facilities-based broadband Internet access providers and providers of interconnected VoIP services
(see Second Report and Order). The FCC subsequently released FCC Form 445 – CALEA Monitoring
Report for Broadband and VoIP Service (see FCC Form 445), which facilities-based broadband
Internet access providers and providers of interconnected VoIP services must use to describe the status of their compliance
with requirements assistance capability requirements of CALEA Section 103. The FCC will use the information provided on
FCC Form 445 to monitor the progress of facilities-based broadband Internet access providers and providers of interconnected
VoIP services in complying with the assistance capability requirements of CALEA Section 103 and the FCC’s rules implementing those
capabilities. Facilities-based broadband Internet access providers and providers of interconnected VoIP must file Form 445 with
the FCC no later than February 12, 2007.
