Background
This section consists of five pages along with a number of crewmember remembrances. To understand how PUEBLO wound up off the coast of North Korea in January 1968 it is imperative to find out about the US Navy's small ship intelligence collection program along with the government and military organizations that created the mission. Finally, there is a short history of PUEBLO the ship herself.
